Standard 29 of the Israel Accounting Standards Board requires public companies to adopt the international reporting standard IAS 19, also known as IFRS. This standard requires companies to prepare accordingly, and there are public companies that have decided to adopt the standard although they are not obligated to do so.
In order to apply the provisions of the new standard and allocate backups and reserves, companies are advised to use the services of an actuary.
